Have you been to the art crawl in Water Valley? It's this fun event where you go from gallery to gallery, home to home, all to see art in each place. You can pick up maps for each spot at The Living Room Gallery, Yalo Studio, and Bozart's Galley, all on Main St. The Lee House will also have maps, just across Main St.
From there, just wander at your own pace, from spot to spot.
Just make sure to end up at Yalobusha Brewery for the after party with a fashion show from MisFits and a live performance from And The Echo. It's right next door to Amelia, so you can't miss it.
Yalo Studio, Bozart's, and The Living Room Gallery will all be showing a portion of the Do Good Fund collection.
About the collection:
Photographs from the Do Good Fund: A Celebration of Southern Photography, is a statewide photography exhibition featuring the work of dozens of photographers and more than 100 images from the Do Good Fund’s collection. The Do Good Fund, a non-profit based in Columbus, Georgia, is a contemporary photography collection whose focus is to build a museum-quality collection of photographs made in the American South in the years since World War II. Artists represented in this collection include Guggenheim Fellows, Magnum photographers and regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized photographers. More about the DO Good Fund here.
I'll be showing work from Gordon Parks, Baldwin Lee, Bill Yates, Brandon Thibodeaux, Dave Anderson, Emmet Gowin, Henry Clay Anderson, Mark Steinmetz, and Maude Schuyler Clay.
Truly not to be missed. September 23rd, from 5:30 - 9:00. Free to attend.
